I´m having the great fortune to work with my passion yoga, dance.
My journey started at a young age when I decided to pack my bags and head out from my native country Sweden to discover the world.
It has been and still is a great adventure, on my journeys I have encountered many cultures and amazing people. My heart has landed in India the country I see as my second home and I am still returning every year.
Practicing yoga has transformed my life and teaching this method to others is my biggest joy in life.
Living for many years in beautiful and sometimes heartbreaking India has also contributed to my interests in dance. In 2005 I discovered the "meaning of life" in the total craziness and happiness of Bollywood dancing. Everyone was dancing as they just won the million dollar price on the lottery.. how can you not fall in love with the music and it´s amazing dance steps? I decided to bring this dance form to Scandinavia and to translate Bollywood into " Swedish". The result is the dance program called Bolly Beat a concept that is now spreading around the dance centers in Sweden.
I have been studying Bollywood dance with some of Indias best teachers Sumeet Nagdev,Lakshmi Prasad, Prabaker, L.Suresh, Shiamak Davars Institute, Arts in Motion, and Grandeurs Institute of dance.
I was a part of an Indian dance group for the duration of 1,5 years, we were performing at different shows and festivals.
Lately I´m studying the therapeutic effects of dance where Tripura Kashyap the author of My Body my wisdom is a big inspiration and has been a great teacher.
My experience with dance and yoga is giving me the ultimate feeling of freedom and joy and this is my source of inspiration when Im teaching.
In my work with children in India and Sweden I can see that dance and yoga is creating a self confidence and a unity that goes beyond words. The happiness and the peaceful moments that Ive experienced together with the children are truly sacred.
This summer I was the guest in Swedish radio P1 in the program Tendens you can listen to the show here:
Seeing the effects of yoga, dance and massage inside the prison system where I have been working with the female inmates of Hinsebergs prison in Sweden has left me with a feeling of humbleness over these methods. The women has experienced less anxiety, better sleep,a moment of relief and a chance to change to a more positive mind frame.
Yoga and dance is for everyone, it is a space where no one is good or bad, where we can be in peace with ourselves without being judged.
I hope I will meet you on a yoga mat or on a dancefloor.
Welcome to my courses and workshops!
